How can I paste a picture without messing up the text?

Well I have some papers to do and when I try and paste a picture right next to my text to prove my evidence the text moves some spaces and it makes it impossible to get a picture in without the text moving to make it look different. I am trying to make it look neat and organised without messing up the text.

Right click on your image and see “Anchor” and “Wrapping” submenus. You also have Wrapping in Image dialog to set spacing to text (which opens also from right-click menu).

These three things should get you started.

Or if you like reading, see OOo wiki about Wrapping and Examples of wrapping

@I7885, If @mahfiaz’s Answer resolved your question, please mark it as correct. Thanks!

I have lost an hour on resolving this! what the … why should user being disturbed with this… :frowning: very frustrating. I was just copying png from paint right into odt file. Strangely when I was pasting snipping tool’s image, text was not messing up. Can I set this by default somewhere that each time I paste image text shouldn’t get weirdly broken?
Thanks.
