GROUP OBJECTS NOT WORKING IN WRITER

The instruction to group objects (in this case images, or images + text box) simply doesn’t work.
Updated my LO version to 5.3.6.1 (x64) but no diffrence.
Holding down Shift key (nor any other ) according to instructions does not work : unable to select more than one object.

LO version to 5.3.6.1 (x64)
Windows 10 Home version 1607 Build 14393.1593 64-bit (Up to date)

I have Version 5.4.1.2 Build ID: ea7cb86e6eeb2bf3a5af73a8f7777ac570321527. Also on Windows 10, but 32 bits version of LO.

I can select a square, text box and another object and group them. Is “unable to select more than one object” an error message? I googled for it, found no results for LO. Is this happening all the time? Then maybe you should reset the user profile. See Frequently asked questions - General - The Document Foundation Wiki - important: rename the folder, don’t delete it.

1. Not all floating objects can be grouped together. You may experiment with attached file to experiment which objects are groupable.
2. It’s not always easy to select different graphical objects by clicking on them. Depending on whether they have inner text or not, what is their text wrap mode, where is underlying text, and other factors, trying to click on another object (using Ctrl/Shift) may not select the clicked object, but simply deselect previous object. To select multiple objects in this case, please use the “Select” tool located on the leftmost position on the Drawing toolbar, and drag the selecting rectangular frame around required objects (make sure to draw the frame that totally includes those objects, including white/invisible parts of them).
