Updated to Java 7- writer shows ""JRE defective"

I let Java update today to v7. When I open a .odt file, it opens in writer, but I get a notice “Selected JRE is defective”.
When I try to export the file as an html strict file, I get the same message and it doesn’t work.
The Java site test says Java v7 is working correctly.
I’m using LO 3.6.4.3 in Windows 7 32 bit Home Premium.
Suggestions for a fix please !
