I was under the impression that this software for or has a built in PDF editor/reader? I can’t find it.
LibreOffice Draw is capable of reading PDFs but you are limited pretty much to reading them, inserting text boxes for annotating, etc. LibreOffice does a pretty good job for basic PDF creation from scratch. It basically works similar to using a virtual printer but without the added steps and software. I’ve made quite a few PDFs in the short time I’ve been using Writer and it has worked very well for that. I recommend also saving the LO files used to create the PDFs to enable and simplify future editing of the PDFs.
For serious PDF editing, such as merging PDFs, adding pages from files to PDFs, rearranging and rotating pages, etc., you will need to buy a good PDF editor, such as Adobe Acrobat, the most commonly used PDF creation and editing program, although it is rather expensive. While still a bit costly, I highly recommend PDF Studio. It costs much less than Adobe Acrobat, has versions for Windows, Mac, and Linux (Acrobat will not work in Linux; so far, I have used PDF Studio only in Windows), and, unlike Acrobat, it is not cloud and subscription based (when Adobe became cloud and subscription based, they lost me). Even though a new version with new features comes out roughly every two years (v12 came out a few months ago), you can continue to use your present version if you are satisfied with the features you already have. New versions will, receive minor feature additions and updates until the next new version comes out. Each license allows two installations of PDF Studio.
To be able to get all the features available in Adobe Acrobat Standard, you will need to get the Pro version of PDF Studio (although it’s still much less expensive than Acrobat Standard) but you will gain more features over Acrobat Standard. However, if you don’t need that many features, it’s possible you may do fine with the Standard version of PDF Studio, which is much less expensive. Both versions have free previews that are fully functional (but leave a watermark on the document).
The only downside to PDF Studio is it doesn’t have an Add-On for IE-11 to enable viewing and downloading PDFs from within the browser. I installed the free Foxit Reader to regain that capability. Foxit is safer than Acrobat Reader. It also has some minor PDF editing abilities.
There is no such thing. Libre has a decent export to PDF tool, and some editing facilities in Draw, but those are very limited.
