I am required to use either palatino or times new roman for research papers…any way to add these to the list?
You do not say what system you are using as this will affect any suggestions for you. If the fonts are already installed, they should be picked up by LibreOffice. If not, you will need to download them and install them on your system. How to do this will be operating system dependant.
On my Linux-Mint system the fonts Palatino and Times New Roman are already installed and available for all my versions of LibO.
