I typed ten pages in libreoffice writer by using header and footer. How I can remove footer alone in the last page of the document

I created header and footer and typed ten pages. I wanted to remove footer in the last page. How to remove footer only in the last page of the document.

Header and Footer are properties of the page style. Special settings are available only for the first page.
Yo need to do the following steps:

-1- Define a new page style without a ‘Footer’.
-2- Go to your last page and insert a hard page brake going the long way: ‘Insert’ > ‘Manual break’ >
-3- Enable ‘Page break’ in the little dialog and select your new page style from the dropdown list below ‘Style’.
-4- Select the complete content of your (previously) last page and ‘Cut’ (Ctrl+X) it.
-5- Paste into the new page.
-6- Delete the formerly last page by a ‘Back’ step if neded at all.

You can get it cheaper by going to the last position of the page above your last page, and insert the hard page break with new style there. ‘Cut’ / ‘Paste’ unnecessary the.

(you inadvertently posted this question twice. I deleted the other copy.)

It’s a shame that expression in conditional text can’t use internal variables like page numbers (as is mentioned in Help) because checking if next page number exists would have done the trick. Sigh!

@ajlittoz: Sorry. I am not as experienced with ‘Writer’ as you are. In specific I rarely long for using variables at all, and never use conditional text. In addition I would hesitate to use it for this purpose.

To the OQ: Anyway I woud appreciate to know if the suggested workaround helped.

@Lupp: like you, I prefer to avoid variables and macros for formatting issues because they look like twists or cheatings against the fundamental principles offered by Writer/Calc/… such as styles. Here I tried to find an “elegant” answer to OQ immune to the problem of the last page border changing with updates to previous content.
