Libreoffice calc / base is very slow after update from 5.2.7 to 5.3.6 and the menu is flickering

After updating 5.2.7 → 5.3.6 Libreoffice got extremely slow, I’m noticing this especially when scrolling in even simple CALC documents or also in BASE tables. There is an extreme lag that has not at all been there in the previous version. I also notice a weird flickering of the menu text when moving the mouse pointer just right and left above the menu text (without clicking), with the menu entries to the right (‘help’) flickering more than those on the left (‘file’). This has also not been there before.
I have not yet tried uninstalling the 5.3.6 and reinstalling 5.2.7, but I will do that shortly.
Thanks for any help!!

ps: libreoffice is running on win10 64bit i7 16gb

The flickering (worsened in 5.3) should be OK in 5.3.7; you can try RC1 available on official download site. Expected release date is available on Release Plan wiki page.

I have now updated to 5.4.2.2 Version and it’s about the same, maybe even worse. Calc and Base are extremely slow and laggy compared to what 5.2.7 was and the menus are flickering. I will now uninstall it and reinstall 5.2.7.

When I wrote about 5.3.7, I meant that: 5.3.7. The 5.4.2 is also affected; it’s 5.4.3 that gets the fix.

Ok, done. I’m now again using 5.2.7 - what an impressive difference!!! It feels like it’s about 10 times faster. I consider both 5.3.6 and 5.4.2.2 unusable compared to 5.2.7 because of the flickering and the laggynes… :frowning:

I see. Thanks for your answer, then I may give it a try when it comes out!
