Right Border Problem?

Hello All,

At the moment I am using LibreOffice to try and print out certificates for our Martial Arts dojo. To that end I went and found some templates that worked with LibreOffice. The templates looked good on-screen though I need to make some modifications, however, when I went through a trial print through to make sure everything would come out correctly, the right side of the page cutout and didn’t show the border of the graphic, and I cannot figure out how to correct this.

Using a ruler I found out that on the right side the printing is stopping 33mm from the edge of the document.

Any help on how to correct this would be “greatly” appreciated!

If you are using writer select format → page. The margins settings are in the lower left.
I have not used a template, so how margin settings can be set in a template may be different.

It’s not the margins that is the problem - they had been zeroed out!

Writer can not write outside the “physical” margins of the printer. The template you modified may be larger than these margins.

The Format▸Page▸Page tab dialog allows you to know the limit not to be exceeded: click in Margins▸Right box then press PgDn key (Page Down).

Of course PgDn key shows the upper limit…

It’s not Outside the physical margins of the printer because it’s there is 33mm “margin” on the right hand. So, it’s not even close to the physical margins. On the print preview it shows up perfectly, it only when it’s printed does the 33mm “margin” come into play.

I had previously zeroed out all the margins. So I knew that wasn’t the problem as to why the “border” was not being printed.

So, after playing around with the settings I finally figured out what the problem was, I had to go to the Format->Page and change the page format to “User”. And change the settings to the “actual” dimensions of the paper I am using. The height in Libre was larger than the paper I was using, and the width of the paper was a full 2cm wider than the setting used. No wonder it wasn’t being printed. Maybe A4 paper has different dimensions in Australia.
