How can one process the contents of a PDF in LO without being forced to have a watermark? One cannot OPEN a PDF, I think it must be IMPORTED.
How can this best be achieved?

Please define ‘process’ in/for your case.
PDF is a special format developed for printing purposes. Depending on which software was used to generate a PDF, reusing content of a PDF can be difficult, as for example, line endings and local special spacing can break the endlessness of a text.
