Cannot replace default font in Libre writer

wish to replace default font with ubuntu 12. replacement software does not work.

I’m assuming you want to set the default Writer fonts.

First either create a new Writer document or open a preexisting Writer document, then go to Tools > Options. You’ll see LibreOffice Writer section. Click the arrow next to it and you’ll find “Basic Fonts (Western)”. From there you can set which fonts you’d like to use as default.

Otherwise, you can set your fonts (regardless of which LibreOffice component) from the Styles and Formatting sidebar (Ctrl/Cmd+T) or from the Styles menu > Edit Style…
