when I want to insert a picture or doc. to my computer from my scanner I cant get it to work the scanner is linked to my computer wirelessly and is working but the libreoffice is not recognising it
What version of LibO are you using, what scanner and what scanner software? LibO should link to the scanner using the installed scanner software. Perhaps there is a problem with your particular combination and more detail would help find a solution.
For example, I am using an Epson V700 with XSANE image software running under Ubuntu 12.04. Both LibO 3.6.4.3 and 4.0.1 work fine importing images into Writer.
I personally prefer to import images directly into my image library and then link to them from LibO. Perhaps this might help in your particular case.
