Question about screenshots - copyright

Hello,

I am planning to write a book on using spreadsheet in business applications. May I use portion of LibreOffice Calc screenshots? I mean pictures which show for instance formulas in few cells, without showing the whole GUI?

I am asking because for instance Microsoft disallows doing that. According to their policies every screenshot should be full sized, with whole interface, etc. They only allow to resize the image – nothing else.

Thank you in advance for answering my question.

First, as an aside let me say I am nauseated my MS’s greedy control over every aspect of use of its products. I hadn’t conceived anything at this level existed. The sooner MS is put to rest the better.

Second, I personally can’t conceive of LO restricting such use, and here is an excerpt from the License (my emphasis). I am not a lawyer, so I offer this for informational purposes only.
