soffice.exe - Application Error

I am running Win 8 Pro and on trying to open LO I get the above window and it states

• The application was unable to start (0xc000007b). Click OK to close program. -

How do I resolve this problem?

There are a lot of possibilities here, but there are a few things that will help us focus-in on the problem:

1. Did you just install/upgrade LO?
2. What version of LO are you using?
3. Are you having issues with any other applications on your computer?
