How to put drop caps in a Draw text box?

I see that Writer has a drop caps function within the Format-Paragraph menu, but I’d like to create a drop caps within a text box in Draw.

Unfortunately the drop caps function does not work in text frames in Writer as well as in Draw text boxes.
What you can do is to copy a Writer text (including drop caps) and Paste Special in Draw as LibreOffice Text. But that proceeding can cause some problems in defining (text object) margins…

Quoting @Grantler: “…the drop caps function does not work in text frames in Writer…”
This is not correct. The text within a TextFrame supports the full paragraph model of Writer. You may have mixed up the terms (and object types) TextFrame and TextBox.
However, you cannot insert a TextFrame into a drawing directly. The attempt may end up with an OLE’d Writer model again.

@Lupp - You are right for sure. In Writer a frame (called “TextBox” > frame style) can be added to a rectangle, e.g. - Inserting the text-filled rectangle into Draw the included frame style text box and the text … disappear. Using paste special (writer object) there only appears a white paper (page) without any text.

.

So … “I’d like to create a drop caps within a text box in Draw” ( @tamarinera ) is not available at the moment. - Right?

@Lupp Thanks for correcting my answer.

There are no drop caps in Draw. The paragraph model of Draw is much less sophisticated than that of Writer. The only way to get full grown paragraoph formatting into a Draw document I can imagine is to insert a Writer object with OLE.
