Sorting tables in Writer with a header row

Okay, so. I have a list of songs I’m working with that I periodically add to, and am entering data about them. I sort them around a lot by various fields. Having just switched to LibreOffice, the issue I’m running into is that there does not seem to be a way to set the top row as a header row, and as such the names for each field just get jumbled in with the data. Is there a way to set header rows, or otherwise not have the top row sorted in with the rest? I would just highlight all rows except for the top and sort them from there, but the document is quite literally over 30 pages long, so that’s pretty unreasonable.

If the answer solves your question please tick the :heavy_check_mark:.

Just make first N heading rows to repeat across pages - use table properties (Text flow tab) for that.

This doesn’t work. And why do I have to make heading rows repeat? I just want to sort the table while keeping the heading at the top.

What doesn’t work? It still works as expected in 7.1.0.3 for me.

And why do I have to make heading rows repeat?

Because that’s how you tell Writer “these N first lines are header, not the data”. Writer’s table sort does not sort headers when it knows those are header rows.
