Embedding and linking images into writer document

Hello,

Background of a problem ( prologue ):
I have some invoice templates where all of the text is positioned using a table. There is an image in the left top side of the page ( company logo ) which hides itself every time the document is being opened.

  • Its like it changes its wrap option to the “in background” despite “Wrap off” being selected.

Clicking the selected “Wrap off” again shows the image. I would like to avoid restructuring the document and making it “tableless” just to see if it will work.

The Image is embedded into the document.

Question:
My Idea is to dynamically link to an online image - hosted online ( if that’s possible )
Is that possible and how can I do this?

Details:
I want to make an online image load from a www address every time the doc is opened.

LibO Version?

Version: 5.2.7.2 Build ID: 1:5.2.7-1+deb9u2

I haven’t a 5.2.7 for testing.
Best “still” version should be 5.4.4.2
I tested with 6.0.0.3 and with 5.4.4.2 portable.

I’ve installed Version: 6.0.1.1 Build ID: 60bfb1526849283ce2491346ed2aa51c465abfe6
Now image just goes out of header into body when its being put into header and anchored to Page :frowning:

The Background is very strange. I cannot reproduce such a behaviour.
I only can think of a document where you killed the paragraph above the inserted table. The table itself will not regard the wrapping concerning images not inserted into its cells. But this is not cured by a repeted “Wrap Off”.

Concerning the Question: That’s simple. Enter the URL of the image into the ‘File name’ control of the file picker opening when you choose Insert > Image and chek the option box ‘Link’.

The attached template demonstrates the results:
My avatar is an embedded image, the LibreOfice logo is linked in from the web. For both the images ‘Wrap’ is set ‘Off’.

Everything works as expcted for me.
