Calc crash when i try to type a formula

hi. i have windows8 and LO 4.01 fresh install.

when in any cell, i try to type: “=…”, after the equal, lo crash, so i cant use calc

Works fine in Win7 64bit.

Works fine in Windows XP SP3 32bit Rus.

lo 4.0.4.2 still crash when i type “=”

Same here… SO linux. Just open calc, don’t do anything (even select a cell) but type “=”, don’t hit enter or anything else, it simply crashes in half a second. Solved removing the libreoffice-extension-numbertext

I have a same problem. When I type a = sign on Calc, goes it to crash. This problem have it when I migrate from LO 3.6.7 to LO 4.0.6. I work on WinXP 32 bits. I search for this problem on google and its no privative to Windows, I have found this problem on Linux from version 3.6 to 4.2
On this link
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=72733
talk about a solution por LO 4.2.1, but this version is too recent for use, because I use on officework.

Hi @hectorczelada,

Does LO crash when you type the 2nd period, or do you have to hit the [Enter] key first?

hi, it crash when i type the 2nd period.

i have uninstalled it and installed lo 3.65

whit 3.65 i have no troubles, so i will wait another version.

Hi @hector,

Thanks for letting us know that you resolved your issue. Sorry that we couldn’t get 4.0.1 working for you. Are you on the mailing list so you’ll know when a new version comes out?

This is the heaviest bug I’ve ever seen on my life!!

just open Calc, hit “=” on the keyboard and it crashes. May this be related to a local setting of something? Maybe a special character in formulas which is used even somewhere else?

I don’t know when it appeared but in the 4.0.2 is still present.

Have you tried to reset the user profile?

Unfortunately this doesn’t help.

This solution helped in my case (Libre Office 4.1.4.2, Win7 x64)
