I have some issues with a downloaded document ( https://goo.gl/DhuFxV ) it opens without any problems in microsoft office and openoffice. however, libreoffice adds 5 extra blank pages from 4 to 9…to edit this I have to manually unlock it in 2 places and then try to eyeball it into position
It is a bad idea to provide a write-protected document. That way I cannot examine, why rendering is different, because I cannot see the actual layout settings in Word.
As general tips:
- Do not make a table, which goes nearly to the bottom border. There has to be space for a paragraph after the table. You can try to workaround this in LibreOffice by reducing the bottom page margin.
- Go to Tools > Options > Writer > Compatibility. You might need to disable the options “Add paragraph and table spacing at tops of pages” and “Add paragraph and table spacing at bottom of table cells” and enable the option "Do not add leading (extra space) between lines of text.
- You might need to enable the option "“Don’t add space between paragraphs of the same style” in the Indent & Spacing tab of the paragraph style.
And also, to add to @Regina, this site is for asking advice. As we discussed this on IRC, I advised you to file a bug, since any difference in layout is a bug (sometimes unsolvable, but still). Please to that on the project’s bug tracker, providing a test document that can be inspected, as @Regina said.
