How do I open ms works spreadsheets

File | Open and from Files of type select Microsoft Works Document and then choose your file.

MS-Works Spreadsheets have WKS extension; when I tried “Microsoft Works Document (*.wps)” as indicated in another answer; WKS documents are not presented. However changing the pulldown to “All files” will show the files; and LibreOffice 3.5.5.3 does recognize this file format (DOS WORKS 3.0).
