Removing blank fields in mail merge

I’m trying to create address labels from a spreadsheet. I have managed to do so, but some addresses are shorter than others, ie there is an empty field, which shows as a blank line in the middle of the address. Is there any way of ignoring blank fields so that I don’t have blank lines on the labels.

Hello,

Please see Writer documentation Chapter 14, Mail Merge page 14 → LibreOffice Writer Guide.

Along with the French YouTube video, I have succeeded in ‘suppressing paragraphs’, although I wouldn’t have known it was called that at the start of this process! Thank you.

Hi

Merci! Very helpful.

Use a Hidden Paragraph field (Insert-Field-More Fields...-Functions), or a section (Insert-Section). In both, you may define a condition to hide. See Defining Conditions to hide when a field is empty.

All fixed now. Thank you for your responses.
