Cannot see libreoffice after installation

I just erased windows with Bunsen Labs Deuterium. I purged Libreoffice 4 and used the SUDO commands to install Libreoffice 6. Afterwards, I don’t see the Icon to open up Libreoffice or the option to open Libreoffice 6 while I’m using Openbox. If I switch to Matchbox I see the icon to open up Libreoffice. How do I open up Libreoffice in Openbox? All I get is the option to install Libreoffice (version 4), which is not what I want.

I hope you have a good reason for installing BunsenLabs Linux, because as far as I can see, it could make for a rough ride.

The question you’re asking really needs to be directed to support for that system, not here, as the problem is at the system level.

Unless you’re absolutely committed to this distro, my own advice would be to use one of the other, more mainstream “lite” installs, e.g. Lubuntu or Mint Xfce. With both of those you’ll be able to get LibreOffice from PPA and set up will be very simple indeed.

Bunsen Labs Linux is lightweight and FAST on my cheap Dell Inspiring 15. I bought the cheapest computer I could find and the first time I turned on the computer with Windows 10, it was SO SLOW! Deuterium is pretty good. I just couldn’t get the open up Libreoffice 6 in Openbox. I can, however, in Matchbox, but I don’t like using Matchbox.

Maybe I’ll switch to the distros you suggested.

@ingus - I would try Lubuntu first, because as “lite” as Xfce is, my own experience is that LXDE is “liter”/faster still (and I’ve used both fairly extensively). I first used it on an ancient Toshiba laptop that booted WinXP in 12 minutes (yes), but Lubuntu (same machine) in 47 seconds. Well worth checking out, and you’ll have the all the support you need at AskUbuntu as well. (On the other hand, Linux Mint Xfce comes with LibreOffice out of the box.) Just my £0.02!
