Libre Office Base Hangs

On several occasions when have modified a report in Base, save and exit, Libre Office hangs and the only way to get out of it is to end the task in Windows task manager which, of course, loses any modifications I have made. This only occurs when I am modifying or sometimes creating reports using the “wizard”. By saving the database using “save as” and a version number the report saves Ok and LO exist normally.

The database is on the c: drive and I am using Win 10 and Libre Office 6.0.3.2, but this has been a problem with a previous versions also. All other features seem to work fine. Anyone gat any ideas.

Your problem sounds a lot like this bug report: fdo#83768 (although that’s quite an old one) – could you check and see if that’s correct? There are other bugs which match report hangs for Base which you might look at, too. If it is one of the reported bugs, then you’ll need to await a fix (of course).

I have had a similar problem creating a report in design mode. If 2 of your data elements have overlapping xy space positions, I found it would hang and/or crash. Be very careful positioning your data elements.
