LO 4 Calc crashes whenever "=" is typed, or Formula button is clicked. (Linux)

Well, the subject.

I reset my user profile, as outlined in one of the previous answers on this site, but it made no difference.

This problem was present since upgrade to LO4. Previously, I bypassed it by staying with LO3.6(?), but now it became impossible with latest major lib package upgrade (i’m on Arch Linux).

Please, help me to restore normal Calc operation.

Thanks in advance.

Forgot to mention, that if I run Calc from within terminal, upon the crash it throws this message:

terminate called after throwing an instance of ‘com::sun::star::uno::RuntimeException’

It doesn/t tell me much, but that’s all I’ve got.

What about upgrade to LO 4.0.2.2 http://ru.libreoffice.org/download/pre-releases/ (as I understood, you are Russian)

Every bug report about crash should be accompanied with a backtrace: https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/BugReport#How_to_get_a_backtrace_on_Linux

In LO 4.0.X under Windows XP SP3 all is fine. Apparently it’s OS dependent bug.

i have the same problem, but in windows8.

so i uninstalled lo4 and installed lo 3.6.5

Works fine for me. A few things to try:

  • Does removing Java help?

  • Do you happen to have some extra LibreOffice extensions installed?

  • Did you use packages from libreoffice website or from arch repo? Trying out LibreOffice packages might be a good thing.

You probably need to remove the package libreoffice-extension-numbertext which was installed with libreoffice 3.xx and now is causing the issue.
