Adding an image to a paragraph style

Hi,

I’ve tried to find a solution for this, but have only found references to page styles …

I want to have a paragraph style that, among the other things like the frame etc. also automatically has an image included at the beginning of the paragraph … kind of like the drop caps, but instead of the first character have the fixed image in its place …

Is this possible somehow? None of the options in the settings seem to have any provision for that …

You may have a need similar to mine. Look at my “Writer: how to associate a margin icon to a paragraph style?” question. Unfortunately there is no satisfactory solution for automating the process.

If your question is only about using an image as a character, it is just a matter of anchor: set it As Character. Remember that your image will then be a character with an unusual size which will dominate line height. To mitigate this effect, you can make it a drop cap.

If you want more explanation or help, edit your question to provide more details (don’t post as an answer) or clarify your requirement.

Actually seem to have solved it … didn’t go through the options enough …

The paragraph style has the “Area” option, which allows for bitmaps to be added as a background … as the tiling can be disabled, I can just import the desired SVG images, scale them to the desired size, set a sufficient indent and am pretty much done …
I’ve noticed though that the area options seem to be reset when altering any other settings … (6.0.4.2) annoying …
