There are certain bugs in LibreOffice which are very annoying to me, and have been unresolved for many years. So much do they annoy me, that I wouldn’t mind paying some money to have someone fix them. However, I wouldn’t pay as much money as that would actually cost, myself. And donating to the Document Foundation may be noble, but it doesn’t promote the resolution of my particular bug except in a super-roundabout way.
But - I’m not the only one annoyed by some of these highly-visible bugs, and if we pooled together what were willing to pay, there may well be enough for someone to go in and fix it. (Well, maybe, I don’t know for sure.)
I was wondering if TDF or somebody else has a mechanism or platform to crowd-fund bug bounties, or development work on resolving specific bugs; and if not - why not?
