Is there a ways to configure default view of Styles and Formatting? Currently it always starts with "All styles", which is less than helpful for me and I always have to switch to Hierachical view. Can the latter be confitured as default? Or at least make LibreOffice remember last selected view?

That works for me (on WinXP 32b) with LibO-Dev 4.0.3.0+
Build ID: 2c40a112923bf1c4441ea76bb8fe3a7a8aa10be (2013-04-01).

Apparently fixed in

EDIT 2013-07-07

That's fixed now in
Bug 61429 - LibreOffice doesn't remember the setting "Hierarchy" of the Styles and Formatting dialog

The patch will be available in LibreOffice 4.0.5 / 4.1.0.

Status: RESOLVED FIXED REOPENED · target:4.1.0 / 4.0.3
(See also duplicate → Bug 30917 - Styles and Formatting window does not remember hierarchical view).

Your(?) Bug 63232 - UI: option to set Default view of stylelist (or remmeber last one) seems to be a duplicate of the above-mentioned fdo#61429.
