Convert impress presentation to video

Thanks for the opportunity to ask:

Is there an extension that will allow LibreOffice Windows 10 users to export an Impress A/V presentation to a video?

I recently switched from Apache OpenOffice to LibreOffice and am impressed with the level of overall maturity and features.

A FOSS multiplatform program that can do screen recording is OBS studio, and can be used to select only the Impress presentation.
On Youtube there are multiple tutorials on this, for example How to Record a Presentation Screencast (Impress | PowerPoint) - OBS Tutorial 2019 - YouTube

The an enhancement request to add video export for Impress is here:

Unfortunately this is a common question - to which the answer is No.

Because you use Windows you do have the option to use the free version of ActivePresenter.
It can record your screen as you run your presentation.
Save to MP4, WebM, MKV, AVI, WMV.

It can also import PowerPoint files, so if you want you can save from Impress to that format and then import that into ActivePresenter.
Make changes, enhancements - and then export to video.
The free version is really quite amazing in its capabilities.
Download here: Download ActivePresenter - Video Editor & eLearning Software
There is a 360+ page PDF manual you can download.
The versions comparison is on the pricing page.
For what you want to do the free version should be all you need.

If this has answered your question, please check the checkmark at left, and the up arrow.

.

Thank you very much for the quick turn-around.

I understand your answer to be, “Yes, provided you first save the file using the PowerPoint extension.”

I will try that…unless I hear back to the contrary.
