I teach online so I need to read Word documents. If I switch to OfficeLibre can I still read Word documents?
Yes. LibreOffice will open .DOC and .DOCX files.
Keep in mind though that the formatting may differ a little or much, depending on how differently formatting features are implemented in both suites. And features in Word that LO doesn’t have will not be displayed at all.
