No more tooltip in picklist / recent files to show file path

I have just installed Linux Mint 19 which ships LO 6.0.3.2 .
In LO5, which I was previously using, the file items in the “Open” picklist had a tooltip showing the full path of the file. Now I do not have any tooltip.

This is very annoying because I have several identically-named files in different folders, so only the path allows me to distinguish them.

Hi,
I have the same problem. I use Linux Mint 19.3 with mate-desktop. The German forum did not give clues, but some hints. So I used the safe mode, reset everything to factory-defaults, updated LO to 6.3.5.2 and I deleted everything under .config/libreoffice/4/user.
If I have no LO-program open but only LO I get the tooltip wit the paths - but still not via menu “files | recent…”
I have still the same problem :-((
Any new tips from your side?

Nope. I’m starting to get used to coping with big software projects where coders think instead of the end user. They create a forum or bugtracker where they can peacefully ignore any user request they don’t like or don’t want to bother with :-/

Any updates about this?

This seems to be the corresponding bug report: 125076 – looking at recent files list we should see the path info

Does this answer to a different question help, how to turn on tooltips - #9 by mikekaganski

By default the path shows as a tooltip in Windows version, they might have been disabled for your distribution

No, unfortunately that doesn’t help - nothing changed.
