I randomly lose images pasted into Writer. When I reopen an affected document, all I see are placeholders.

I cut and paste images from other documents into Writer. Occasionally, when I reopen the Writer document, the images are gone and replaced by placeholders. I know this problem has existed for years. Any fix yet?

Try switching to LibreOffice Version 6.1.1. From 6.1 is supposed to work better image editing. If that does not work, just post here.
