Can't select second column in two-column section?

Hi, am having some trouble with my 2- column section: I have a table in the first half and that’s all well and good, but now I want to create a table in the second half, however I can’t as I can’t select anywhere after the table in the first section in order to create anything; whenever I try to click on any part of the page after the table, be it below the table within the first section or anywhere within the second section, the cursor appears in the last cell of the table.

It’s as if I can’t “leave” the table to add anything else within the section I have created…

You did not accept the answer. That’s done by clicking on the checkmark in the gray spot which turns to green on MouseOver.
(BTW: Closing threads doesn’t make much sense. The feature is just one of the subtleties of askbot.)

Your comment on the answer didn’t make me expect you to accept it. In what way did it yet solve your issue?

Reopened. No answer selected, this is just very confusing.

Alt+Enter when in last cell

I tried holding Option (Mac equivalent modifier key) then pressing enter but get no response from doing that- nothing happens.
I also tried holding Command (Mac equivalent for Ctrl) and pressing enter, which moved the entire section and table to the following page, leaving the first page “sectionless” and blank, which was interesting.

Insert a Column Break to get access to the next column

Insert > More Breaks > Insert Column Break

If this answered you question please check the checkmark at left.

.

Upon updating to Libreoffice 6 this works without issue. It seems the issue I was having may have been related to the old version I was using.

Works like a charm.
