I'm unable to draw on Impress slide (properly)

LibreOffice 6.0.6.2 (64-bit Windows 8.1)

Impress → Slide Show doesn’t allow for normal pen annotations, even when selecting “Mouse pointer as pen” in the settings nor during the presentation.

I can draw annotations (during a presentation) only by right-clicking a slide, selecting “Screen”->“White” or “Screen”->“Black”,and then drawing something. The drawing won’t be visible until returning to the slide.

I’m also facing the same issue

The best way to indcate “me too” is by clicking the up arrow above the votes counter, at the upper left corner of the question. This is an upvote, increasing the importance of the question. If you have noticed additional symptoms or contexts where it appears differently, add a comment.

I’m having the same problem. However, I’ve noticed something: If “use OpenGL” is checked (Tools>Options>LibreOffice>View), the pen works properly. But that’s not a solution to me, because activating OpenGL makes all the animations and slide transitions look awful! When I uncheck OpenGL and check “Hardware acceleration”, animations and slide transitions are smooth, but then the pen stops working. If you guys don’t have this problem when OpenGL is checked, then you may have a solution. To me, still hoping someone come up with a solution to have animations and transitions working fine AND being able to use the pen during presentation.
