Whenever I try to use libreoffice draw to open a PDF file I am asked to enter the password. Actually, I did not have a special password for it. I have only the password that I use to authenticate my request for installation of any UBUNTU software. It is also what I used to install libreoffice draw. What is the matter?
You are being asked by what? and which password does it take (I mean, of course, that you name its category like “my user password” or something like that, not the password itself)? The question is to try to understand what’s happening. E.g., if that’s Ubuntu asking you for your keyring, then LO must somehow try to access something on the net.
Let me explain. A PDF file cannot be read. I could open it in Windows using PDF Architecht. Thus, I understand that it is a problem of Llibreoffice Draw. To be sure I start directly Libreoffice Draw requesting it to open the file. Here comes the Password question. A window appears to insert the password. I insert the one that I normally use with UBUNTU and which I used to authenticate my request to install Lebreoffice Draw. The reaction is a message telling that the password is incorrect.
I am having the same problem. How do I get into a password protected file when I never set up a password for the file?
ALLRIGHTY then. I found mine was AUTOMATICALLY set to password protect these, CLICK and unprotect your documents if you don’t want to keep typing them. Mine was so big it had to be uploaded to the Cloud to share, but I never remembered protecting them! Mine was saved with the House Internet password, so try all of them you can!
This sounds a lot like the (almost 10 years old!) bug 49697 in the handling of encrypted PDFs with empty passwords.
Try to just click OK without entering a password.
