Change grid intervals

I have looked and looked but everything seems just around the corner from what I want. I feel that this so basic, either I am fool, or it just does not happen!

I have a scatter-plot chart (which is actually a line chart, but whatever). I want more accurate grid lines than are just at the data points in the X and Y axes. I have managed to halve that. But I want much finer grids, so I can race down the chart from a datum point on the graph to the x-axis (in this case).

How do I choose this?

Thanks for any help

Nick

  • Edit mode: edit X and Y axis: Scale > major/minor interval (deselect Automatic - then diminish values)

Wha? How do I get to that Edit Mode?

Double click the chart or right click and context menu Edit, then Format → Axis → X Axis… (or Y Axis…)

And please do not abuse Answer for comments and questions, use add a comment instead. Thanks.

Thanks. That was what I wanted. Now all I have to do is remember it!

Ah! Now it clicks. I have used the right click/edit option and it looked as if nothing was happening. I expected a menu to pop up, not for the top menau to change…

Sorry about the reply. This is the only forum I have ever been to that works like this.
