Is there a way to convert a Microsoft Access file to a LibreOffice format?

I was using Microsoft Office 2007 and i’m now using Libreoffice. I can not find a way to convert an Access database.

What OS are you using & what database will you use in Base?

Also, how many data bases, and how big a data base? The reason I ask is there are a variety of strategies.

@campsoup, in the future please update your question above to respond to requests for more information here, that is rather than enter an Answer below, … unless you have an answer. Thanks.

Hello,

Make sure you have the proper Java JRE installed for your set-up. See → on firefox and have loaded java 32

Converting Access to Base will only bring over Tables & possibly Queries. In Windows, there is the ability to connect to an existing database. The selection would be for Access. HOWEVER, this only works for 32-bit LO out-of-the-box. If you are using 64-bit LO please see my answer in this post → I got error “The connection to the data source “DB file name” could not be established.”. There are a couple of possibilities there. This leaves the data in Access with Base as the connection to it. You can then copy the tables from there to another ‘pure’ base file. Pay attention to data conversion.

Possibly the fastest & easiest method in you case would be to export your Access data to a spreadsheet and then copy that data into a new Base file. Information on this is in this post → how to convert a ods spreadsheet to and odb table.
