How to fix broken tray icon Fedora and Libreoffice 6 and up

Dear all,

Ever since Libreoffice 6/Fedora 28, the tray icon of Writer has been functioning weirdly. Most of the times, I get an ugly white and black icon in tray from Libreoffice, but sometimes I get the regular Writer icon. I have not been able to figure out if there is any system to it. Sometimes it just works, sometimes it doesn't. I had been hoping that the new Fedora 29 would have fixed the issue, but sadly it is still broken. It is not a big deal, but since I write a lot, it bugs me out a lot. Anyone with ideas on how to fix this?

See the added screenshots.

Yours,

Rubion

Are you using OpenGL or hardware acceleration?

Yeah I guess so. Isn't that pretty standard in gnome/Fedora on a medium/high end machine? How would that influence a (seemingly) missing icon?

Sorry - it seems I misunderstood your question. I thought it was a Writer issue.

I can't help with Fedora.
