can't edit data ranges in writer charts

Hi everyone,
I’m using Libreoffice 6.1.3.2 on Ubuntu 18.04.
I often work with (basic) charts in writer documents. Those charts are created in writer, from tables inside the document. These are not calc charts.
Today I noticed I can’t edit data ranges for those charts. The usual “edit data ranges” entry in context menu is nowhere to be found, and “data range” button in toolbar is greyed out.

Any hints?
Thanks in advance.

I don’t know the answer to your question, but it sounds as if that feature has been removed from LO 6.1.3.2, or perhaps"neglected" in the release. Have you tried re-installing 6.1.3.2, or reverting to an earlier version?

reinstalling 6.1.3.2 didn’t help, but after a painful downgrade to 6.0.6 chart data range edition is back in writer.
I just hope future versions will keep this functionality.

I believe you should file a bug report at Bugzilla to alert the developers that the feature is needed but lacking.

Just did that:
