Multiple Customers Viewed at the same time

I’m attempting to convert from Microsoft Office to LibreOffice Base.

What I need to be able to do is to see multiple records at the same time. Typically, I will sort by ascending date so I know who to call first. I illustrate what I need in the attached picture.

Is this possible in BASE?

Alternatively, a query in tabular form would be possible.

+1 for your Q. Now you should be able to post images here directly I think.

Please click Help | Send feedback… and add an improvement suggestion with your screen shot. In time we will improve base and would like a list of things people would find helpful. Thanks.

Hello,

You will find many differences between Access and Base, this is among them. Out-Of-The-Box, the method to display multiple records in Base is to use a table control. Your attachment is to display each record using field controls. It can be conceivably done with macros but probably requiring a good deal of work. On that note, macros in LO are quite different than with Office. The exception here is that within Base there is a library, Access2Base ( see → this page) which provides some similarity.

Hi Ratsslinger,

Thanks for telling me this. Now I know that BASE probably isn’t for me. Glad I found this out before I spend too much time on this.

@Gary1, in the future please use a comment box (click on add a comment) for your comments rather than entering it in an Answer box. Thanks.
