Base form requires entry with ‘Entry required’:’no’

I made a table and setup some fields. I set all of the fields’ “entry required” setting to ‘no’, but when I made a form via the Form Wizard and tested it out, I couldn’t submit the form because I left some values blank. None of the empty values was a Primary Key, all of them were either Timestamps or Text [Varchar]s.

Help please? I’m using LibreOffice 6.1.3 on Linux.

It appears your table fields are set to No for Entry required but you did not set the property in the form fields. Controls on a form also have a property titled Input required which has a default value of Yes. You need to change these also. To change, right mouse click a control & select Control. On the Data tab of the properties is the setting. Do this for each control you do not require entry for.

I right clicked on one of my controls, but the properties menu doesn't have a Data tab! It only has one tab, which is General.

Most likely you have actually selected two objects simultaneously - the control & its' label field. To select just the single control, hold the Ctrl key when righting the control.

Thank you! I am new to LibreOffice, so I didn't know that, but the properties menu did say Multiselection... 😳. My bad! I tried Ctrl + Right Click and it worked. Thanks again!

You are welcome. Glad you found it - just a matter of time when you would run into the problem anyway.
