Calc default save actions need upgrade

LibreOffice Calc ctrl-S saves even if already saved, wasting time.
But ctrl-F4 defaults save option to CLOSE, instead of SAVE.
These two “feechurs” are exactly BACKWARDS.
At least give user a choice of setting.

If one makes a new spreadsheet, then tries to close without
saving, system will not allow. In other words, Calc protects
empty file better than it protects real data.

Sorry but what it’s not protected?

Ctrl+F4 (or Ctrl+W) on a modified yet unsaved document asks to save before it closes the document, with the default preselected on Save. There’s nothing backwards. In a new unaltered spreadsheet document, closing it does not ask anything. This for me on Linux with LibreOffice latest releases of 5.3, 5.4 and 6.0 and the current 6.1 and upcoming 6.2; you didn’t say what you’re using.

If you don’t like the default keyboard shortcut assignments you can modify them under menu Tools → Customize.
