I am using 3.6.1.2 for compatibility reasons. Currently cannot update so need to figure this out for 3.6.
Yesterday writer started freezing when I try to insert a manual break. I use it almost daily and never had this issue until yesterday.
When it freezes I can still resize the window but no writer functions work and I cannot close the window, I have to close it with task manager.
Windows 10 Pro. I have renamed the user profile in APPDATA/roaming with no luck.
Any ideas are appreciated.
Then it’s likely a document issue: I’d suspect a layout corner case. You could try to figure the problematic place by trying to remove halves of the document (in a copy), and see if the issue persists, then removing half of the problematic half, and so on.
Thanks for the reply. Renaming the user folder was the solution. We recently migrated to a new domain and I was mistakenly using the appdata in the wrong user profile on my machine. Noticed it hadn’t created a new user folder when I was looking at it again. Renamed the user folder in the correct account and problem resolved. I will remember your suggestion if I hit the problem in the future. Thanks again.
RESOLVED: Renaming the user folder in the correct user account fixed the problem.
