Decimal Alignment in LibreOffice Writer tables

I am creating tables to present multiple regression data in LibreOffice Writer. The problem is I need my decimal points to all fall in line. How do I accomplish this? I have been searching on Google, and browsing what is in the system. Pretend I’m not the most literate with LibreOffice, and just let me know what to click where.

An example of the problem:
If my values in the table are as follows:

-.67

(1.08)

1.56

(0.51)

6,671

.2463

I need all of the decimal points to be aligned, even those in the parentheses and with the negative signs. These values are in the same column in the table.

Writer tables are weird. The best way to do what you want is easy, but not evident at all: for the paragraph style used in the table (or as direct formatting) define a tab stop aligned to the decimal separator. And I’d said “define” because once it’s defined you don’t need to use it! The definition is enough!

This is one of the topics I cover in my book about Writer.
