How do you activate the tools in the Base Form Control Toolbar?

I want to modify an existing Form. The Forms Control Toolbar is displayed but all of the controls are greyed out. I can’t find a way to activate them.

Hello,

From the main Base screen, right mouse click the form you want to modify and select Edit....

You should now have access to controls.

Hello again Ratslinger. I tried that again and the controls are still greyed out and non-functional. Have I turned something critical off?

@wblueg here is the LO documentation for Base → LibreOffice Base Handbook

@wblueg If this is an existing form how was it created? What specific controls are grayed out? Can you create a new form & edit that? Only other help is if you can post a sample.

The whole Forms Control Toolbar is greyed. I particularly want to use the design mode toggle switch contained therein. I will try to duplicate the from from scratch and see what happens.

Sorry, my error. The Design Mode toggle is on Form Design toolbar. That is used to go from Edit to Live mode for testing. That I use quite often. Only available starting from Edit mode of the form.

Done that. Still greyed and non functional. Only seems to work in the design of a new form.

Try restarting Base in safe mode & see if it works. From menu Help->Restart in safe mode...

Also, there is a sample in my answer in this post → Base: search button and showing the datas. See if you can edit a form in the sample.

I closed out everything and restarted the computer. I then opened in safe mode having all settings restored to factory. Form comes up fine and I can switch back and forth using the design mode toggle. Thanks Ratslinger!
