I am trying to some some poster size printing and need large fonts
Glyphs in “modern” fonts have no intrinsic size, they are defined as scalable shapes. You just set the desired one in the toolbar size box. You are not limited to those in the drop down menu: you can enter any number in the editable box. I’ve tried 1000 and it is accepted. There is probably a limit but it is beyond large enough to not matter in practice.
Remember that with really large glyphs, the choice of a fontface is of primary importance for aesthetics.
