Libreoffice Documentation for the various versions of LO products can be found:

https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/D...

I looked at the V6 PDF version of the Writers Guide.

https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/i...

I searched for "envelop". On page 150 there is a section on "Printing envelopes". There are images in the manual that are helpful. Here is a small section:

Printing envelopes involves two steps: setup and printing.
To set up an envelope to be printed by itself or with a document:
     1) Click Insert > Envelope from the Menu bar.
     2) In the Envelope dialog, start with the Envelope page. Verify, add, or edit the information in the Addressee and Sender (the “from” on the envelope) boxes.

In the 5.4 LibreOffice Writer Guide, "Printing envelopes", is on page 154. The procedure is the same.

If the issue is that the menu item is not there (Insert > Envelope....), continue; The rest of this response is assuming Insert > Envelope... does not appear on the menu.

A couple of suggestions:

  • Restart LO Write and double check the menu.
  • Check to see if the menu was customized.
    1. Tools > Customize
    2. In the Target drop-down select Insert
    3. In the Function List, scroll down. The last two items I have in that list are: "Envelope..." and "Signature Line...".
Does "Envelope..." appear? If not, it sounds like your menu has been customized. Checkout Chapter 21, "Customizing Writer' or just click the "Reset" button.

Hello,

The list (under Insert) is longer than the viewing area. Therefore you must scroll down (mouse or down arrow key) the list to find the Envelope item (second from bottom). This may be different on much earlier versions of LO but you never stated your LO version.

The setting of an envelope can also be done on Format->Page but doesn't offer the same capabilities as Insert->Envelope.
