Is there a 'dark mode' for Libre Office

Hi, I am using Mac OS Mojave in a dark mode and most applications that I am using are too. Is there anywhere the option to get a dark interface mode with Libre Office? Thanks

eg… like this…

Follow up 3 years later - isn’t there a real dark mode for libre office (like native qt build or something) on Windows platform? Putting on themes are the band-aids, not a real solution. Just curious, my version is:

Version: 7.3.3.2 (x64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: d1d0ea68f081ee2800a922cac8f79445e4603348
CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 19044; UI render: default; VCL: win
Locale: en-US (en_US); UI: en-US
Calc: CL

It came out as a solution first in 7.4 (right after you wrote), then was improved considerably in 7.5.1. Folks who set their system them to dark should find that LibreOffice properly “follows suit”. Or see the posts for more details, to more easily change things that some of the older suggestions in this thread.

Since LibreOffice 7.5.1 (March 2023), there’s now a built in option to switch to dark mode: Tools > Options > View, see Mode and switch to Dark (or keep on System if you use dark mode all the time).

Did you already check >Tools>Preferences(Options)>LibreOffice>Personalisation

Yep, unfortunately there are no a real ‘dark mode’ available like with Photoshop or most other applications that I use… if I try a dark grey theme it look not in line with my other apps… PS for example looks very different… that’s what I am after.

Try Tools>Preferences>Personalisation>Solid
If this helps then please tick the answer (:heavy_check_mark:) …and/or show you like it with an uptick (∧)

Hi, thank you very much for your reply. I’ve tried it but the result is very different. But no problem at all, the white version is perfectly fine for now. Best wishes!

For 6.4.1.2 (x64) : Tools>Options>Personalization>Preinstalled Theme (or something that isn’t Default look).

There’s an option below Personalisation i.e. >Tools>Preferences(Options)>Application Colors, you can play around with colors according to your choice and create a dark environment by yourself

This should be the accepted answer. You can choose here Color scheme dark.

There is no ‘dark mode’ officially in LibreOffice per se. However, you can make it look like dark by changing the application background from Tools → Options then clicking application colors.

Remember, your OS’s dark theme can also be adapted if you are in Linux. For example: If you are using Ubuntu, you can use Adwaita dark theme from settings to make LibreOffice toolbar etc. Windows 10’s native dark mode may not impact the LibreOffice toolbar. Hence, you have to use grey theme available in LibreOffice alongside application colors.
