I am new to Office writer.

MS Office allows paragraph spacing to vary depending on whether the next paragraph is the same style or a different style. Often you will want the same style paragraphs to have closer spacing than if a change of style occurs after a given paragraph.

Does Writer offer this type of spacing option?

UPDATE - Apache Office does not support this feature, LibreOffice does. Because this is such an important feature for the work I do, it appears I will be better off with LibreOffice. I am testing it now!

@libreofficeUser30872 - thanks for taking the time for a snapshot. This is the second time I have been looking in the wrong place.

I am using Win64 Open Office V4.1.6 and that check box is not there!

@jwzumwalt: it is only present in LibreOffice since 3.6, not in AOO.

What is the difference? (I thought it was the same?)

These are two different projects (LibreOffice and Apache OpenOffice) both forked from older OpenOffice.org. They are totally independent, and one has orders of magnitude more contributions than the other.

Thanks for the info. I did further research. Because this is such an important feature for the work I do, it appears I will be better of with LibreOffice. I am testing it now!
