How to trace back multiple formula dependencies?

Hi,
LibreOffice 4.0.3.3 on Windows XP.

1. In cell A1 type in 100. In cell A2 type in =A1*10. In cell A3 type in =A2-10.
   
2. Tools | Detective | Trace Precedents.
   
   There is trace displayed on cells A2 and A3.
   
3. If clicked on A2 and repeat step 2 then trace is also displayed for cell A1 to A2.
   
   
   Is there a way to have this multi-step dependencies trace done in one step? If there are multiple cascading cells dependencies, this multi-step is time consuming. Is there a way to do this multi-dependencies detective trace in one step?

@froz - if I understand you right. you can place your cursor in the last cell of a possible linked chain (in your example A3) If you click Trace Predecendents once you get the trace back to A2 if you stay in A3 and click it a second time the traces line goes back to A1. (= yiou don’t need to go to A2 and click Trace Predecendents)

For each click you go back one more step in your chain.

I personally like this step wise approach because I can see the trace step by step rather than all the same time. However this is most likely a question of personal preference.

This is excellent! Pressing Shift+F7 without moving to precedents cells. Even better then I thought that can be done. Vote+1. Thanks a lot.

No multi-level instant method I know of, but you can keep pressing SHIFT+F7 (Precedent) or SHIFT+F5 (Dependent) to obtain each subsequent level. You probably want to assign a shortcut to Remove Precedent and Remove Dependent though so you can step backwards and forwards.

I see I can also use CTRL+Z to undo, so no “remove” action is required.
