I have to write a lot of code into LibreOffice Writer and I was thinking about such a feature.
Is already a tool out there to achieve this?
What does the community think?
Personally, I use a customised paragraph style to set up the background colour and a monospace font. Unfortunately it will not automatically syntax highlight the code. The closest I think of is extra character styles for reserved words, strings, identifiers, …
As you can guess, this implies a lot of manual work, though this can be simplified if you give shortcut keys to your styles (but, still, manual work).
Okay. That sounds not like a usable solution. Can I make somewhere a feature request?
Yes, here. Don’t forget to mention “feature request” in the title. Try to describe as accurately as possible the specification (purpose and technicality). Don’t be too much optimistic on the delivery date, there are so many blocking bugs and not enough developers.
