How do I migrate OO autocorrects, macros and key assignments to LibreOffice?

In Open Office, I use autocorrect to expand a considerable number of terms into html code. Also, I have a number of macros combined with key assignmants. Can I migrate these things from OO to LibreOffice? (Windows7)

Hello Spook,

yes - this can be done. All you need to know about User Profiles you’ll find at https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile

Hope that helps.

What is Open Office? Is it Apache OpenOffice or what? If yes, try to simply copy an Apache OpenOffice user profile to a LibreOffice user profile.

Apache. Consulted wiki fm Opaque (below) and (upon rebooting) reacquired my autocorrections (whew!), but my macros and key assignments haven’t migrated across yet. Still need some assistance on those.

You did not specify what you have done. Read these guidelines and ask a good question.

Try copying the entire profile. Note that certain macros may fail to work in LibreOffice. Blame the developers for breaking things.

It was a fine question. As per Opaque (below), I copied across the entire Profile. As you noted, macros didn’t work. Neither did keyboard assignments. Individual macros (!) code can be copied directly from inside the Basic OO file macros to inside the LO Basic macros file. I didn’t try to copy the entire file from one to the other. Just the “innards”. Worked fine. Still left me with manually reassigning all of the keyboard assignments. The Profile did migrate the autocorrections and autotext flawlessly. Migration of macros & keyboard assignments obviously still needs work. Thanks for the assist to both of you. Back to manual reassigning keys to macros.

Try to simply export and import your key bindings. Use Load and Save buttons in the keyboard shortcut customize dialog.

Thnx, I’ve finished doing it manually now. Next person to migrate can take advantage of that. Thanx again.
